The Federal Government delisted 37 more illicit loan apps on Monday, according to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
The number of fully accepted loan applications increased to 164 from 154 as of the last information obtained by Nyscinfo on Monday.
The number of loan applications with conditional clearance fell from 40 to 38, while the number of applications on the commission’s watchlist increased from 20 to 56.
According to sources, the FCCPC has permanently delisted and initiated the process of deleting at least two loan apps from the Google Play Store for harassing Nigerians on August 20, 2023.
On August 1, 2023, the FCCPC requested that Google delete illegal apps from its play store that were operating without regulatory approval or in contravention of the Limited Interim Regulatory/Registration Framework and Guidelines for Digital Lending, 2022 (Guidelines).
