The Ashinaga Africa Initiative invites applications from qualified African citizens for its fully-funded 2022 leadership program. Ashinaga Africa Initiative started in 2021 and its core assignment is to contribute to Sub-Saharan Africa’s widening role in the world development through growing access to international higher education.
Ashinaga Africa Initiative’s support is targeted at orphaned students who are determined to return home after their study to bring change, by offering access to full monetary support to study at a university abroad, which will be equivalent to an undergraduate degree. Ashinaga Africa Initiative help covers accommodation, travel fees, tuition, and other required fees.
Requirements for Ashinaga Africa Initiative Leadership
Interested applicants must have:
- Lost either or the both of his parents, and must have completed secondary school education and passed his exams with excellent results. Note that technical and vocational degrees will not be accepted.
Or, will have completed secondary education and undertake final exams not later than February 28th 2022. - Been born not before 1st September 1999.
- Do not attend university abroad in the absence of external monetary support.
- Be proficient in English Language, French or Portuguese.
- Be consistently ranked among the top 10% in the class for the last 2 or 3 years
- Be ready totake partin two Ashinaga mock programs for one year, prior to attending university.
- Be dedicated to returning home to contribute to the development of Sub-Saharan Africa at the completion of study.
- Not have dependents who would interfere with academic activities and progress.
- Be medically fit enough to study abroad
Required documents
To apply, interested candidates are to submit the following documents:
- 1 passport photograph.
- National Identity Card.
- Birth Certificate.
- A copy of recent school term report, transcript.
- High school exams result certificate
- Death certificate of parent(s)
- Letter of recommendation from the school principal or class teacher. Contact phone number must be included, as well as performance information.
