GVG Grant – The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Farouq has said it is ready to disburse Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000) Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG) nationwide.
Sadiya Farouq disclosed this via a post shared on her verified Twitter account. According to the Humanitarian Minister, during media parley she attended on the implementation of Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG), she explained that GVG is part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s social inclusion and poverty reduction scheme under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).

Recall that the Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG) programme was launched in 2020 to sustain the social inclusion agenda of President Buhari’s Administration, which is consistent with the national objective of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.
The programme was designed to provide a one-off grant to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people, especially in rural areas of the country.

She said:
“In line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s social inclusion, 70% of the total number of beneficiaries is for women while the remaining 30% is for men. In addition, about 15% of the total number of beneficiaries is specifically allocated to the segment of the population with special needs, including persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in the Country, forcibly displaced persons (internally displaced persons, returnees, etc), Widows and orphans.
