FUTO Registration Procedure for Freshers 2024/2025

This is to inform all newly admitted students of the Federal University of Technology, FUTO, Owerri, for the 2024/2025 academic session, that the registration process for the same session has been released by the leadership of the Federal University of Technology, FUTO. This article will guide you through the FUTO registration procedures for procedure for freshers. You may like to check FUTO admission cut off mark.

Before verifying other essential details such as the student’s profile, profile details, acceptance fee, and payment of school fees, newly accepted FUTO students should be aware that the verification of O’ level results is the first and most significant requirement for registration.

FUTO Admission Process

The first step in the FUTO registration process is to check your admission status. Applicants who have not yet received notification of their admission status can do so by following this simple procedure.

1. Visit the University website – https://futo.edu.ng

2. Click on “Prospective student.”

3. Navigate to “Check Admission Status” to confirm your admission.

4. Choose the option “click here to check 2020/2021” Undergraduate admission status.

5. Enter your JAMB REG NO and click on the submit button to view your admission status.

After confirming your admission status, click on Verify O’ level and enter the needed information, such as the year of the test, the exam number, and the scratch card pin.


After confirming your admission, proceed with the O’ Level verification:

1. Click on the link “Verify O’Level details.”

2. Update your O’Level details by providing your O’Level exam year, exam number, and O’Level result scratch card pin.

3. Note: Candidates combining two results need to supply two result scratch card pins based on the examination body.


Ensure your portal account is verified by following these steps:

1. Visit the University website at https://futo.edu.ng.

2. Click on the link ‘FUTO Portal.’

3. Select “New student” and then “Login” from the drop-down menu.

4. Obtain account details using your JAMB Registration number as the default username and password.

5. Log in with your username and password.

6. Choose “Change Your Password” to create a new secure password.


Complete your profile details as part of the registration process:

1. Click on “Fill Profile Details.”

2. Enter the required information in the fields.

3. Click the submit button to finalize your profile details.

4. Print the profile information slip.


Make necessary payments for Development Levy and School Fees:

Development Levy:

  • Login to the Portal at portal.futo.edu.ng
  • Click on the link “FUTO Portal.”
  • Select “New student,” then from the drop-down menu, choose ‘Login’
  • Log in and click on “Pay Development levy” to generate your payment invoice.
  • Print the invoice and proceed to any bank for payment using your RRR code.
  • Alternatively, make payment online with credit/debit cards (Verve, Visa, MasterCards).
  • After successful payment, print the FUTO admission letter, validity form, and confirmation of admission form.

School Fees:

  • Login to the portal with your username and password.
  • Click on “Pay Fees” to generate your payment invoice.
  • Print the invoice and proceed to any bank for payment.
  • Alternatively, make payment online with credit/debit cards (Verve, Visa, MasterCards).
  • After successful payment, return to the portal to print the FUTO school fees e-receipt.


Proceed to the Admissions Unit for registration and collection of Green file with original and photocopies of the following documents:

  • Original JAMB Result slip printed directly from JAMB’s website
  • Duplicate of JAMB Admission Letter printed directly from JAMB’s website
  • FUTO PUTME screening Result Slip
  • O’Level Statement of Results
  • Confirmation of Admission form printed from FUTO Portal
  • FUTO admission Letter printed from FUTO Portal
  • Signed Acceptance Letter (Printed from FUTO website)
  • Birth Certificate
  • LGA Identification Letter
  • FUTO Fees eReceipt
  • Direct entry: A’Level Certificate, OND/HND/Degree statement of result (for Direct entry candidate only).
  • Validity Form with Passport Printed from FUTO Portal.


Complete the Green File forms and submit them to the department for further clearance. Proceed to University Library and Health Services Center for registration and issuance of Library card and Health Clearance Certificate. Registration at the Health Services and University Library is a requirement for the issuance of the e-ID card.


  • Admitted Direct Entry Students should ensure their institution forwards their Academic Transcript to the Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, P.M.B. 1526.
  • University Admissions Officer authenticates the Admission Letter using the verified results/Certificates or assigns the candidate to another Department if needed.
  • After matriculation, students must sign the Matricula at the admissions unit within one (1) week, serving as input for the issuance of e-ID cards to Freshmen.


1. Log in to your Portal account.

2. Click on the hostel allocation menu.

3. Select “Generate Hostel reservation.”

4. Choose the Hostel type and generate the Hostel Allocation payment invoice.

5. Proceed to FUTO MFB for payment with the generated payment invoice.

6. After successful payment, return to the portal with the e-Pin generated in the bank.

7. Click on “Print Hostel Reservation Receipt” to print the allocated ROOM.

8. Print the allocated room on the receipt and proceed to the Student Affairs Unit for further clearance.


Online Course Registration:

1. Log in to your Portal account.

2. Click the course registration menu and select the Register Courses menu.

3. Select the Session and Semester and click the Submit button.

4. Choose your Courses for that Semester and click the submit button.

5. Print the registered courses.

Online Result Checking:

1. Click the Result menu and select the view result menu.

2. Select the Semester and session and click the submit button.

3. Print the online Semester result slip.


  • Payment of school fees is compulsory for access to various services.
