This is to inform Nigerians that the application portal for the National Social Housing Programme (NSHP) is now open. In this post, we will show you how to apply for NSHP. According to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Federal Government houses nationwide would be allocated through online applications. He said the application process of allocation would start through online applications by the beneficiaries.

“The process is going to be on an online platform, the form will be online and pay online, fill them, you don’t need to give anything under the table. It is first come first served, that is why it takes a little while”.

The National Social Housing Programme is the housing component of the Federal Government Economic Sustainability Plan to provide affordable housing and millions of jobs for Nigerians.

NSHP was created to make it more easier for anyone to own a home, as an individual, cooperative or groups with a minimum of ₦2million. You can pay small small every month until you off-set the bill while living in the house.

So, instead of paying house rent as full-time tenant, it is better to become a part-time landlord, so that once you reach a certain amount, the house automatically becomes your own. You can also apply for NSHP job.

NSHP available offers

Below are the available offers for prospective landlords;

  • Two-Rooms (1 Bedroom House) for ₦2,000,000
  • Three-Rooms (2 Bedroom House) for ₦2,750,000
  • 4-Rooms (3 Bedroom House) for ₦3,500,000

Requirements for NSHP offers

Applicants must meet the following requirements;

  1. Must be a Nigerian citizen (either by birth or nationalization).

  2. Applicants must be over 18 years of age.

  3. Have National Identity Number (NIN).

  4. Applicants must have a reliable source of income.

How long does it take to get allocation?

As soon as your application is processed, arrangements for allocation begins.
