How to Choose States of Choice During NYSC Online registration – Complete Guide on Zoning

This article is written to guide every Prospective Corps Members (PCM) on how to choose 4 states during NYSC online registration. Every information about the NYSC zoning and selection of Four (4) states of choice during online registration is well explained on this page.

With the information provided on this page, PCM will no longer be taken unaware when they are to select states to serve.

Choosing States of choice – NYSC Zoning

How to Choose 4 States During NYSC Online registrationThe idea of zoning is a new registration procedures invented by NYSC which allows Prospective Corps Members to choose four (4) states they would love to be posted to serve. NYSC will post you to one of the four states that you selected.

How it works

You will only be allowed to select Four states from the six (6) Geo-political zone in Nigeria.

Note: You are not allowed to select your State of origin and State of Institution of graduation for those who studied outside their state of origin. Also, only one state is allow to be selected from each zone.

Although there are six (6) Geo-political zones in Nigeria, you will not be allowed to choose 6 states, but only 4 states.

NYSC Zoning Arrangements

Since you will only be allowed to select 4 states from 6 geo-political zones, this is how it works.

  • One state from the North Central zone
  • One state from either North East or North-West zones
  • One state from either South East or South-South zones
  • One state from the South West zone, making the total number to 4 states.

Remember that from the 4 selected states, NYSC will deploy you to one of the states, and it usually done randomly by the NYSC system.

  • Benue State,

  • Nasarawa State,

    Nasarawa

    Which state should I expect?

    1. Amambra has about 70% chance

    1. You states selection can only be determine during online registration because some states like Abuja, Lagos etc may not even be available for you to choose…

    2. U can’t chose nassarawa and still select fct abuja.
