Lagos State Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) for Young Nigerians 2022

Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu created the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP), an intervention program that trains and empowers women and young people to become agribusiness owners in order to alleviate poverty, create jobs, and ensure food security.
This is consistent with the Ministry of Agriculture’s responsibilities under the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda, which also include ensuring food security and building capacity.

Eligibility Requirements

Applications from suitable candidates are now being accepted for placement in a one-month training program in;
  • Poultry
  • Piggery
  • Aquaculture
  • Vegetable Value Chains
  • E-Agric and Agribusiness at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe.

Requirements:

  • Unemployed
  • Passion for agriculture
  • Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate
  • Satisfactory physical/health condition
  • Age ranges between 18-35 years for men and 18-55 years for women.

Benefits

After training, participants will complete a minimum 3-month internship and mentorship period in the value chains of their choice. Successful participants will then be connected to loan providers for consideration.
