MTN Foundation Scholarship Application Portal

MTN which is an acronym for Mobile Telephone Network and formerly known as M-Cell, is a South Africa owned mobile telecommunication company founded in the year 1994. The brand has being growing across African and Asian countries, because of its technological advancement and form of operation as a mobile network provider/operator.

The telecommunication company, as a means of promoting development and giving back to the populace, do offer scholarship awards to various qualified persons in countries where it is operating.

The MTN Foundation Scholarship award is being offered yearly to hardworking Nigerian students, who are already admitted into any of the recognized tertiary institutions in the country.

Categories under the 2021 MTN Foundation Scholarship

There are basically two groups of Scholarship schemes provided by MTN under the ‘MTN Foundation Scholarship’, which are;

1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship

This very scholarship is awarded to about three hundred (300) students who are studying any Science and Technology related courses in any of the recognized tertiary institutions in Nigerian. Those eligible to apply are students who are already in their 300level (be it University, Polytechnic, or College of Education).

The 2021 Opening will make the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship program be in its twelfth (12th) year of existence.

Note: Only those who maintain the required grades will benefit from the scholarship award scheme amounting to two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) annually, until the completion of the course is achieved.

2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students

This very scheme is launched to support the education of blind Nigerians, who are currently in 200 level studying any course in Nigerian owned tertiary institutions, be it university, polytechnic, or college of education.

Until graduation, the qualified blind students will benefit from the scholarship award amounting to two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) yearly, as long as their grades is in line with the stipulated requirement. The total number of student’s accommodated yearly into the ‘MTN Scholarship for Blind Students’ program are sixty (60) in number.

The 2021 edition will make it the tenth (10th) edition of the program, right from its inception.

3. Top 10 UTME Scholarship

This very scholarship award doesn’t require applications from individuals, as it is meant for only the best ten (10) scoring students who sat for JAMB UTME.

This very scholarship program is recently added to the ‘MTN Foundation Scholarship’ in the year 2020. And irrespective of the persons announced by JAMB as the top ten (10) candidates with the highest score in the UTME, they will be eligible to study any course in any institution of their choice, be it Public or Private. And benefits the scholarship program of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) yearly, starting from 100 level to the very last level (graduation).
