Information reaching our desk indicates that the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is preparing to open its orientation camp in NEXT two weeks. Nyscinfo.com learnt that half of the normal number of Corps members will be allowed in camp to reduce crowd. Read the news below.
The NYSC Katsina State Coordinator, Alhaji Yahaya Ahidjo, has revealed that Katsina Orientation Camp will reopen in next two weeks, after returning from a management meeting held at NYSC Abuja headquarters.
Yahaya said he has already written to the State Government in Katsina and COVID-19 Committees to retrieve NYSC facilities in their custodies for fumigation and conditioning.
Below are his words:
“At the Abuja meeting we were asked to liaise with our respective state government in getting our camp ready in two (2) weeks from today and to observe social distancing in all camp activities and all other COVID-19 protocols.
“And we expect half of the normal number of Corps in the next camp.”
It can be recalled that NYSC orientation camp was suspended on 8th April by the NYSC DG, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim over Covid19 outbreak in the country. Since then, the activities of the scheme have since been limited to passing out of several batches of Corps members in strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
