NYSC To Pay Corps Members Allowance Without Clearance

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said it will pay Corps members monthly allowance for the next two months without clearance.

NYSC stated that the reason for canceling monthly clearance is to keep with rule of social distancing due to COVID-19 infection. And that it has directed its Area Coordinators for strictly compliance.

Below is the full statement from NYSC management as obtained by Nyscinfo correspondent.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Management of the National Youth Service Corps hereby conveys to all Corps Members that the monthly clearance stands suspended for two months, in keeping with the rules of social distancing, as well as avoidance of crowd which are effective in stemming the spread of COVID-19.

In this connection, Corps Members are assured that the payment of their monthly stipends shall be effected without recourse to the clearance letters.

Area Directors, State/FCT Coordinators had since been been notified of this directive and must ensure strict compliance.

Corps Members are once again admonished to ensure good personal hygiene, social distancing, avoidance of crowd, use of hand sanitizers and facial masks; and above all staying at home in order to guard against falling prey to the virus.

They are advised to always stay tuned to the NYSC traditional and social media platforms for information.

With correct and responsible behaviour, we shall defeat the virus. Stay safe.

  1. But in Jalingo this directive is not in effect. Clearance has started this week here and I’m not comfortable with it. May God save us from all this wicked official here.
    Just wondering if they know how this COVID-19 of a thing operates.

    I’m a 2020 Batch A corper. I’m yet to get my allowance for the month of March which i’m still expecting.

    I want to know if the two months you’re talking about is March and April or April and May. Thanks.
