Police Academy Application for 10th Regular Cadet Degree Programme

The Nigerian Police Force has commenced the online registration for the 10th regular course cadet degree programme at the Police Academy. This program is open to both male and female candidates of Nigerian descent who are interested in joining.

The application period will last for six weeks, starting from 24th July and ending on 3rd September 2023.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, interested and qualified candidates can register on the official website polac.edu.ng.

The acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, assures that the selection process will be conducted with utmost transparency and accountability.

He also warns applicants to stay cautious of fraudulent individuals and online scammers who might attempt to exploit the application process and deceive unsuspecting candidates. Those found engaging in such misconduct will face legal consequences.

The statement issued by the Nigeria Police Force reads,

“We invite interested and qualified candidates of Nigerian origin to register online for the 10th Regular Course Cadet Degree Programme. The registration will be open for six weeks from 24th July to 3rd September 2023, giving male and female Nigerians with good character the opportunity to serve their country.”

Requirements

Applicants must meet certain criteria for admission into the Academy:

  • They must be Nigerian by birth and possess a National Identity Number (NIN), as well as a JAMB result (2023 only) with a score of not less than 180 marks. Additionally, they must have selected Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first choice in the JAMB form.
  • They should have a minimum of 6 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO or an equivalent qualification, with credit passes in English and Mathematics.
  • The age of the applicants should be between 17 and 21 years by 31st October 2023.
  • They must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, and meet certain height requirements: not less than 1.67m tall for males and 1.64m tall for females.
  • Male applicants should have a chest measurement of not less than 86cm (34 inches).
  • They must not be married or pregnant at the time of admission.
  • Possession of a valid email address and phone number is mandatory.
  • Statements of Results or certificates from SSCE (WAEC/NECO) before 2019 will not be accepted.

The application process is virtual, and interested candidates who meet the above criteria should visit the Academy’s website polac.edu.ng to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code.

This code will be used to make a non-refundable payment of Three Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N3,500) through any commercial bank branch in Nigeria.

After successful payment, candidates will be able to fill out the online form and upload scanned copies of their SSCE results, birth certificate, and state of origin certificate.

Once the online forms and guarantor forms are completed, candidates are required to print them out and submit them at the Nigeria Police Academy during the physical screening.

The Academy will communicate the date for the automated physical screening exercise in due course. Successful candidates will then participate in a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by an Automated Medical Screening Exercise and an Automated Interview/Selection Exercise for the final selection of candidates.

Those selected will undergo a 5-year academic and police training program, leading to a Bachelor’s Degree and commissioning into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police II.
