Police apprehends escaped Osun COVID-19 patient

Police has apprehended the missing conoravirus (COVID-19) patient from Osun State Isolation Centre in Ejigbo.

The patient who is a woman was apprehended in Ejigbo town and was quickly returned to the facility by the police.

According to a reliable source, the woman escaped from the isolation centre early Saturday morning, after some unknown individuals told her the state government was using her.

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor of Osun State, Mr. Ismail Omipidan, confirmed the apprehension to newsmen.

“It is true that a patient, a woman escaped from the isolation centre, but she has been apprehended and returned to the facility.

“Presently, we are investigating her movement to enable us initiate contact tracing with anyone she might have contacted to avoid community spread of the deadly pandemic.” He said.

At the time of filing this report, Nigeria has a total of 209 confirmed cases of the virus in the country, 25 persons have been discharged with four deaths, according to the NCDC.
