Reekado Banks Biography And Current Net Worth 2023
Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known by his stage name Reekado Banks, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, stage performer, recording artiste, and entertainer who was previously signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records but is now the CEO of his own music label, Banks Music.
Reekado Banks Biography
Prior to launching his own music company, Banks was a member of Mavin Records from 2014 to 2018, during which time he had tremendous success with the Mavin group. Before obtaining his record deal with Mavin, he was known as “Spicy” as an aspiring artiste, but he later changed to what he is known as now to coincide with his expanding profile.
Born within a musical family, it’s no surprise that Reekado Banks grew up to be the artist he is today. He is the last child of a preacher father and a caterer mother from Ondo State in Nigeria’s south-western region. His siblings are also involved in music, with his elder brother working as a producer and his elder sister singing gospel. Reekado Banks grew up in a strict household environment because both of his parents were pastors. By the age of 14, he had completed his secondary education and had begun composing music, with his debut album of songs released in 2008.
While he was still in his early stages, his elder brother produced all of his songs and taught him the fundamentals of singing, writing, and producing, which he would later polish and become one of Nigeria’s most sought-after singers. Reekado Banks graduated from the University of Lagos, UNILAG, with a bachelor’s degree in history and strategic studies in 2014. Don Jazzy, 2face Idibia, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Olamide, and M.I have been named as top music artists who have had the most effect on his music style.
Reekado Banks signed a record deal with Mavin Records after his brother submitted some of his tracks to the music firm during an online talent search. After his entries were chosen over the majority of the 5000 entries, Mavin Records signed him. During an interview with the National Mirror, he mentioned how his brother submitted his songs and contacted the record label without his knowledge. Banks also spoke to the National Mirror on his variety as an artist, adding that he creates music with the understanding that people are unique and have various tastes.
Reekado Banks debuted his single Turn It Up on February 21, 2014, the same day he signed with Mavin Records. The song featured Tiwa Savage, and it was released as his first official single under the record company. Reekado Banks appeared in the song Dorobucci with Don Jazzy, Korede Bello, Tiwa Savage, Di’Ja, Dr SID, and D’Prince, as part of the Mavins All Stars Crew. He also worked with several of the previously mentioned artists to release three singles, Adaobi, Arise, and Looku Looku.
Reekado Banks released the Don single Katapot, produced by Don Jazzy, on February 13, 2015. The song is said to be a diss track directed towards D’banj and Wande Coal. Don Jazzy was quick to deny the claim in a series of tweets.
