Reps set to scrap NYSC as bill against the scheme reaches…

Information reaching the Nyscinfo.com news desk indicates that the Nigeria’s House of Representative which is the second arm of federal lawmaking institutions is currently making effort to scrap the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The bill to scrap the scheme has reached second reading in the Senate. Amongst other things, the bill cited indiscriminate killing of NYSC members across Nigeria during ethnic and religious crisis, low remuneration paid to Corp members.

Honourable Awaji-Inombek Abiante who sponsored the bill pointed out that, a lot of public and private organizations are no longer recruiting graduates because of the NYSC corp members being posted continuously to their offices.
