Tears in Rivers as NYSC State allowance turns Audio.
Tears have started flowing freely among Corps Members posted in Rivers State, with the inability of the Nyesom Wike led government to continue the payment of the state allowance of ₦15,000, Nyscinfo.com correspondent, Comrade Nnadi Goodluck reports.
Recall that we reported last month when the state government commenced the payment of the ₦15,000 to Corps Members posted in the public sector and ₦10,000 to those posted in the private sector.
With this new update, it seems that the state allowance is just a one-off, and not something that the state government will continue doing every month.
The payment of the state allowance was subject to the release of ₦132million by the state government in the same November, an announcement Governor Nyesom Wike made while speaking during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council of the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) at the Government House Port Harcourt on Friday, 15th November 2019.
At the time of filling this report, the state government is still mute on whether to continue the payment of the state allowance to Corps Members or call it off.
Because of this, Anambra State have now retaken their position as the highest paying state for Corps Members in Nigeria.
