UNILAG Rejects Rumors Of Attempted Kidnap On Campus

UNILAG

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) administration has denied rumors of a campus kidnapping attempt.

According to social media sources, two unidentified guys were captured attempting to kidnap a woman at the university’s second gate on Tuesday, February 2, 2022.

According to reports, the males attempted to court the lady while she was walking along a trail, and when she declined, they pushed her into their car and slammed a stone into her head.

“She screamed for help and security personnel were able to apprehend the suspects. They have been carted away for further investigation.”

The event, according to the university administration, was an instance of social misconduct and physical violence between students, in which one party attempted to flee the scene and was captured by campus security at the Onike Gate axis.

The case is being handled by the Security Unit and the Division of Students Affairs, according to the report.

“The vice-chancellor and university management wish to assure our dear students, parents and the public that the security and safety of all students remains a priority at the University of Lagos.”
