Emiko was the 20th Olu of Warri, born to Olu Erejuwa II (1951–1986) and his wife Olori Eyinagboluwade. Olu Atuwatse II, who died in March 2015, was replaced by him. On December 12, 2015, he was anointed Ogiame Ikenwoli I at Ode-Itsekiri, the Itsekiri people’s ancestral home, in a ceremony attended by numerous Nigerian dignitaries. He was the Olu of Warri, and his wife, Olori Mary Emiko, was his wife.
