Childhood And Early Education
On December 29, 1963, Abdulfatah Ahmed was born in Share, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. From 1973 until 1978, he was a student at Katsina State’s Government College Funtua. Career In Politics
Ahmed was named Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development at the start of Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s Kwara State Administration (2003–2009). After that, the newly established Ministry of Planning and Economic Development named him as Commissioner. Ahmed also served as the chairman of the budget formulation committee and economic team for the state of Kwara during this time, as well as the treasurer for six years of the Nigerian Forum of Commissioners of Finance. He was also named to the board of directors of Shonga Farms Holdings Ltd., the chairman of the MDG Implementation Committee, and the International Aviation College, Ilorin.
Ahmed defeated Alhaji Yekinni Alabi (39 votes) and Chief Bashir Omoloja Bolarinwa (695 votes) in the PDP primary (9 votes). On April 26, 2011, there were elections. Ahmed received 254,969 votes. With 152,580 votes, Dele Belgore of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) came in second.
Defection From APC To PDP

Fraud Allegations
Ahmed was detained by Nigerian authorities in December 2020 in relation to his alleged participation in a protracted financial fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission investigated his wife’s role while doing this. Two billion naira could have been lost to fraud. On May 17, 2021, Ahmed was arrested for the second time by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after being questioned for seven hours on around $9 billion that was allegedly misappropriated by the Kwara State government.
