Flour Mills Nigeria 2023 Innovation Competition for Nigerian MSMEs and Students ( N5m grand prize)

The second iteration of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc’s yearly Prize for Innovation competition has begun. The objective of FMN’s Prize for Innovation is to draw attention to fresh and creative approaches to achieving sustainability in Nigeria’s food value chain.

The goal of this year’s campaign is to support the development of local content in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied industry and promote the growth of sustainable food production.
In order to assist a paradigm shift away from dependency on imported raw materials and toward the development of local capacities for the aim of supporting local communities, participants in this year’s competition will come up with unique solutions.

Competition Theme: Innovative techniques for local content development in the food and agro-allied sector.

Eligibility Criteria For FMN Category 1 – Micro, Small And Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) Qualification

  • The Prize is open to residents of Nigeria aged 18 years or over except employees of the organizer and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  • Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria
  • Undergraduates in Nigeria
  • Postgraduate students in Nigeria
  • Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) that are registered in Nigeria and operate in the agro-processing and food production space.
  • Your big idea and innovative solution should address a shift from dependence on raw materials import to prioritize local content usage in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied sector.
  • Your idea should have a solid proof-of-concept, a social or commercial purpose, and a clear roadmap to scale.
