GEEP 2.0: Enumeration Of Beneficiaries To Begin On A New Date

Beneficiaries of the newly reformed Government Enterprise Empowerment Program Initiative GEEP 2.0 will be counted starting May 12.

Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, announced this at the start of a three-day Advance Training on Digitization and Registration for Social Investment Program Program Managers and Master Trainers.

The Minister, who was represented by NSIP National Coordinator Dr. Umar Bindir, stated that the training program intends to promote digitalization to Program Managers and Master Trainers using current software and working tools.

GEEP has been rebuilt for digital compliance, according to Umar Farouq, so that trainees can keep up with the latest technological trends. She stated that this is in order to achieve President Muhammadu Buhari’s goal of lifting 100 million people out of poverty.

Poverty is a problem in our society, and it is unfortunately widespread. We’ve reached the GEEP level. All of the states’ Focal Persons are present, as well as the National Orientation Agency. We wish to try our hand at registering and documenting all of the beneficiaries in a seamless but transparent manner. We must now learn how to adequately identify and document this group of disadvantaged Nigerians.

The minister emphasized that repayment of the interest-free loan at the end of its term is based on efficiency and success.

GEEP Team Lead Zainab Musawa, who gave an overview of the Advance Training on Digitization and Registration for Programme Managers and Master Trainers, said the training will provide a comprehensive framework for improving beneficiaries’ registration processes and implementing digital transformation of program delivery throughout the GEEP 20 lifespan.

While great progress has been made in terms of execution, the Ministry has been diligent in improving program design in order to provide better service to those in need. The Ministry recognizes the importance of digital processes for effective delivery results, and as such, is pleased to announce the digitization of the GEEP 2.0 processes, as well as revised registration policies, in order to meet the mandate’s objectives.

“Rethinking and redesigning processes in the age of technology for better delivery” is the focus of the three-day training program. Loan disbursement is planned to begin immediately following enumeration.
