Successful applicants could be hired into the state’s civil service at any time, according to information from the recruitment committee.
The State Government has contacted some of the applicants who participated in the second stage of the recruiting process, according to reports.
Officials from the Ministry of Education have started calling some of the applicants, according to the findings.
The phone calls began last week, according to reports, after the Commissioner of Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin, appeared before the House of Assembly to defend the ministry’s budget for the fiscal year 2022.
Oladoyin informed lawmakers that the state government was dedicated to hiring teachers in public schools, promising that the names of successful candidates in the teacher recruitment process will be released and deployed to classrooms by November of this year.
The commissioner was replying to a statement by the Assembly Minority Leader, Hon. Babajide Adewunmi, who complained that there aren’t enough instructors in Osun public schools and questioned why the state government hasn’t hired new teachers.
However, according to information, some of the candidates across the state have been receiving phone calls from Ministry of Education personnel since last Wednesday.
One of the candidates who spoke to the medium in Osogbo yesterday said he got a call on Monday from someone claiming to be from the Ministry of Education.
According to the applicant, the caller inquired about his major, graduation year, and birth date.
Another applicant verified the ministry official’s phone contact, stating she was asked a few questions regarding her educational background.
Probably, the ministry might want to confirm our details for the compilation of final list”, said the candidate.
An official from the ministry’s Examination Department, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the situation.
According to the official, the ministry was contacting some of the applicants who had passed the pass grade but had not specified their discipline on the recruiting form during the registration process.
