The NITDA Blockchain Scholarship, 2022 Scheme has been announced by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in partnership with Domineum Blockchain Solutions.
The program aims to train 30,000 Nigerians in blockchain technology so they may advance their careers in the field.
Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, the Director General/CEO of NITDA, announced the program on the Blockchain-day of “Digital Nigeria” event held on the 26th October 2022. He said the program will “accelerate blockchain adoption in Nigeria and make Nigeria a global player in the blockchain industry.” In order to become “early solution providers in the fourth industrial revolution,” he urged Nigerians to utilize the scholarship.
Domineum Blockchain Solutions is the program’s implementing partner, while BSV Blockchain Academy is in charge of creating the course materials.
Reacting to the announcement, Mr. Mohammed Jega, the co-founder of Domineum reiterated its commitment to delivering “quality education and equipping participants with the skills to build real-life blockchain solutions”.
In all of the federation’s states, the program will be provided in a hybrid mode (virtual and in-person gatherings). Outstanding project teams have the chance to enroll in a London incubation program, while other teams will be introduced to the BSV Ecosystem where they can participate in other projects.
No prior programming expertise is necessary; the scholarship is open to any Nigerian who is ready to put in at least 20 hours per week, has access to a laptop or desktop, and demonstrates passion and determination.
The program aims to teach blockchain technology to 30,000 Nigerians so they can build their skill sets for careers in new technologies.
