NYSC Allowance for All States in Nigeria (Current)

The NYSC allowance refers to the monthly stipend provided to participants of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Nigeria. This financial support is given by the Federal Government of Nigeria to help cover basic living expenses for graduates serving in various parts of the country during their one-year mandatory National Service. The allowance is intended to support corps members as they engage in community development, gain work experience, and contribute to national unity. The specific amount of the allowance may vary and is subject to periodic adjustments by the government.

Aside from the federal government’s NYSC Allowance, which is currently N33,000, state governments also pay varying amounts (state allowance) to NYSC members posted to various states. In this piece, we shall delve into the NYSC allowance for all states in Nigeria.

However, the amount each state government pays to Corpers differs. A crucial factor that determines the choices of the best states for NYSC is the allowance, as no one would like to serve in a place where they literally receive no pay.

Sometimes, it can be painful to see your colleagues in other states being paid for the same work you do in another state without pay. Now, let’s walk you through the Corpers’ allowance for all states. You may also want to check the 10 best states to serve in Nigeria as a Corper.

How much does NYSC pays Corpers?

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) pays N33,000 to every serving Corps Member, regardless of where they are serving. Besides that, there are usually other compensations such as state allowance and PPA allowance.

Does it matter for State Govt to pay Corps members?

Yes, it does matter. The N33,000 stipend that the FG pays Corps members is not enough to sustain them throughout the month. Many Corps members usually find themselves ‘stranded’ in the middle of the month without food and money. Therefore, paying them a state allowance would be a form of support, and it would go a long way to encourage them.

How much is the NYSC State allowance?

There is no fixed amount for state allawee. Some states pay, while some don’t even pay, especially when there is change in the government.
