Xiaomi has teamed up with Leica to create a new smartphone that will be available in the coming months.
The Chinese company acknowledged its “long-term strategic engagement” with Leica and announced that the two companies have been working together on a flagship gadget that will be presented in July.
This is the fourth manufacturer with which Leica has collaborated on mobile imaging, following Sharp, Huawei, and Panasonic. Xiaomi, on the other hand, has made no announcements about its upcoming flagship device.
Given that the phone would be released in a few months, it is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU, which was just announced.
Xiaomi appears to be following in the footsteps of other Chinese firms by incorporating a unique feature on its flagship or premium smartphone to differentiate it from competitors.
When Huawei partnered with Leica for photography features on its flagship smartphones in 2016, the trend began. Hasselblad has also partnered with OnePlus and OPPO, while Vivo has partnered with Zeiss.
While Xiaomi has not confirmed anything, the next smartphone will most likely be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which, according to rumors, will be packed with features when compared to other high-end smartphones.
