The management of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced new date for its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It is important to note that JAMB is the only exam body that set exams Tertiary Institutions’ Entrance Examination for people who wish to further their studies to higher Institutions.
During a press conference in Abuja, the JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede confirmed the new official date for 2021 UTME.
JAMB new exam date 2021
According to the JAMB Registrar, the new scheduled UTME date are as follows;
- JAMB 2021 Mock UTME which was previously scheduled to hold on Thursday, May 20 2021, will now hold on Thursday June 3, 2021.
- Main JAMB UTME will hold from June 19 to July 3, 2021.
Stakeholders has also recommend a two-week extension for the UTME registration date, to now end on May 29, 2021. The extension is due to a stakeholders’ firm commitment to delivere on their respective responsibilities.
JAMB also disclosed that it would dispatch monitoring teams to all States of the Federation and FCT during the extension period, and direct all CBT Centres to stop selling ePINs and not to collect registration fees from candidates until they complete their registration.
The Board threatened to sanction anybody that go against their directive. It also banned CBT centres from registering candidates in group. And directed all CBT centres to open all twenty (20) allowable registration points to, ease congestion at registration centres.
Meanwhile, the National Identity Card Management (NIMC) promised to give priority attention to UTME/DE prospective candidates who want to register for NIN.
JAMB also urged candidates that yet to receive response from 55019 to send their Tracking ID or NIN to nimc-jamb2021@nimc.gov.ng.
While those that collected their NIN from unauthorised sources are asked to visit NIMC office to resolve the matter.
