Selected fellows will have the chance to interact with IMF management and senior staff for a two-day virtual workshop to explore contemporary global economic concerns such as inclusive growth, inequality, the digital economy, and climate change.
About International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The Worldwide Monetary Fund, or IMF, supports international monetary cooperation and financial stability. It also contributes to the eradication of global poverty by facilitating international trade, increasing employment, and fostering long-term economic growth. The 189 member countries of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) administer the organisation and hold it accountable.
At the United Nations Bretton Woods Conference in New Hampshire in July 1944. The 44 countries in attendance aimed to create a framework for international economic cooperation in order to avoid a repeat of the competitive currency devaluations that contributed to the Great Depression in the 1930s. The IMF’s principal goal is to maintain the international monetary system’s stability, which includes the exchange rate and international payment systems that allow countries and their inhabitants to transact with one another.
