Community policing is a working strategy put in place to enhance the level of security, by both Federal and State Government. One of the States that took it as a welcoming transformation plan, in terms of providing tight security is Kaduna state.
They made the registration possible around the month of june/july 2020, where interested candidates applied via www.kdsg.gov.ng.
This was in line with the FG stipulated objectives pertaining community policing, and as contained in number 10 of the law proposed on 1/6/2016.
After a rigorous training embarked by shortlisted applicants, about two hundred and seventy-two (272) constables made it from the training school.
These successful trainee are to start up immediately as community police, to increase the rate of security in the State.
The Executive Governor of the State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai shown his satisfaction with the progress attained in regard to the new policing strategy, and gave the assurance that the innovation has come to stay, as there are laid down plans for improvement, and continuity.
During the Passing out parade of the new officers, Samuel Aruwan, who is the commissioner for Internal security & Home Affairs was the one that represented the Governor of the State.
Not only did he congratulated the new officers, but also encouraged them to focus on the sole reason why they were being trained, and given the mandate to serve as police constable in the State.
The next phase of the training will commence soon, as more officers are expected to come out from the training school to join the current constables that are passing out.
Although, the application for the community policing isn’t open as at present, but we’ll let those aspiring to apply know once it is out.
