FG set to increase number of N-Power beneficiaries from 500,000

By Comrade Nnadi Goodluck

The FG has announced plans to increase the number of N-Power beneficiaries from its current 500,000.

This was disclosed on Friday by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo during his participation as a guest panelist in the Emmanuel Chapel’s “Economic Sustainability Beyond COVID-19” webinar.

Recall that Osinbajo also announced the same plans February last year, during a visit to the palace of Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

He said last year that the Federal Government will increase the beneficiaries of N-Power scheme from its present 500,000 to 1.5 million.

He said on Friday: “The Buhari administration intends to increase the number of those that are being directly engaged through the N-Power scheme, which has so far engaged over 500,000 young Nigerians.”

The VP also said that the health sector will benefit N126bn out of the N500bn initial stimulus fund included in the 2020 Budget.

He added that despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic globally, the present regime would not relent in its efforts towards improving the country’s healthcare infrastructure and economy.

The VP said that the FG will create jobs for millions of Nigerians in different sectors, supporting small businesses, local production, and manufacturing, as well as extending the social safety net for the most vulnerable in the society.

It’s time for the youths to step up. In prayers we put the affair of this country but we need action. The Nigerian do not actually have it’s citizens interest at heart. Propaganda and fake promises everywhere

  2. They said nysc discharged certificate is included during the registration, what of those that are still waiting for nysc especially those that have registered for nysc but due to covid 19 they were not able to go, please what is their faith?

  3. I don’t think if there will be justice. Now that Nigeria has turn to a different world; our leader’s are not helpful any more, everything seems to belong to their children. We pray for God intervention towards this country. And I pray to God, to lead our leaders according to his will to always do the needful… Amen.!!

That’s OK, But the FG should do something to upgrade the salaries and welfare of we batch A/Bs. Our stipend is no longer sustainable considering the hike in prices of commodity. So it is in this regard, that I chukwuma Nnamenea,a batch B volunteerfrom enugu state, is urging the federal government under the able leadership of president M buhari to please do more and consider an upward review of our monthly take home. It is obvious that almost 80% of all beneficiaries is married with kids. God bless Nigeria.
