The Jemila Abubakar Memorial Essay (JAME) Competition 2022 is now accepting applications. Undergraduate students in Nigerian tertiary institutions are encouraged to submit essays on the topic: Criminalization of Suicidal Attempts: To Stay or to Go.
Ms Jemila Abubakar, the Asido Foundation’s first Project Manager, was a selfless angel who was enthusiastic about mental health awareness. Sadly, she died in July 2020 after a brief illness. The Asido Foundation intends to honor her legacy by hosting an annual essay competition for undergraduates from all Nigerian Tertiary Institutions. The focus will be on a current mental health issue.
