The Nigeria Government on Thursday announced the commencement of Covid-19 survival fund distribution for small businesses under the scheme called “MSME Survival Fund”.
Also the Government started a Twitter hashtag #IGotSurvivalFund which has been trending since Thursday morning where many Nigerians are testifying to have collected the money.
The screenshot pictures of credit alert posted by many Nigerians on Twitter shows that the Federal government might have instructed beneficiaries through text messages to post online with the hashtag #IGotSurvivalFund.
The message starts with the hashtag, and then followed by personal name, name of business, location of business, registration ID, and “I am a beneficiary of Survival Fund. Thank you Federal Govt.”
According to people’s report, the survival fund ranges from N20,000 to N50,000.
Recall that registration for survival fund scheme started on Monday 21 September, 2020. According to the goverment of Nigeria, no fewer than 1.7 million Nigerians registered for the program.
At the time the Nigerian Government announced the scheme, they promised that 45% of the beneficiaries would be women, and 5% are people that need special help, like the disabled.
Also Government planned to favour those into transportation business, artisans, plumbing, bricklayer, electricians, etc.
