Tolulope Adesua Etomi-Wellington is a Nigerian actor, singer and songwriter from Edo state. She was born on 22nd July 1986 in Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria, to a military father and a civil engineer mother. Adesua Etomi-Wellington was born in Owerri, the capital of Imo state. While some sources had it she was born in 1988, she confirmed in an interview she granted Pulse Nigeria that she was actually born in 1986 in a family comprising three other children among whom she is the youngest.

Adesua started her early education at Corona International Primary School, Lagos. Later, she attended the prestigious Queen’s College, Lagos, after which she moved to the United Kingdom at 13.
She began acting very early as she joined a drama club when she was 7 years. In 2004, she got a Diploma in Physical Theatre, Musical Theatre and Performing Arts from City College, Coventry, United Kingdom. Having got triple distinctions in the three courses, she proceeded to study drama and performance at the University of Wolver Hampton where she graduated with first-class honours and The Foursight Theatre Award.
Her acting career
Having completed her university education in UK, Adesua returned to Nigeria in 2012 and continued acting in 2013. In 2014, Adesua launched into the Nigerian movie industry with a bang after featuring in a blockbuster movie – Knocking on Heaven’s Door. She performed excellently in the movie and her recognitions came rolling in when she won the drama award at the 2016 African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her performance in another movie titled “Falling”.
Adesua’s popularity spread after her short film “Brave” and the “Gidi Up” TV series. Part of the productions she has taken part in include: Shattered, Crystal Slipper, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, London Life Lagos Living, Saro, and Les Miserables, etc.

Adesua shocked the Nigerian entertainment industry when she and her lover and super star musician Banky W announced their engagement on the internet, on July 2017, surprising many people by how they kept their relationship a top secret from the eyes of the media until they broke the news by themselves. They have since gotten married and were blessed with a baby boy in 2021. And this time, again, the news of the pregnancy was also kept secret, as well as the news of the birth of the child which came a month after.
