The suspended chief of the Nigeria Police Force’s Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari, and a prominent socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, were among the guests at the wedding of Maina Alkali, the son of the current Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba.
Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, and his Yobe and Jigawa equivalents, Mai Mala Buni and Badaru Abubakar, attended the wedding of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi, at the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar El-Kanemi, in Maiduguri, Borno State’s capital, on Saturday.
Among the other visitors were Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President; Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno; Hadi Sirika, the Minister of Aviation; Aliko Dangote, a billionaire industrialist; and Aminu Ahmed, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tiamin Rice.
Following his association with suspected fraudster Ramon Abass, dubbed Hushpuppi, and his subsequent indictment by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States of America, Kyari was suspended from office. One of the most common criticisms he received at the time was for his perceived connection to specific characters, such as Obi Cubana.
