The Mo Ibrahim Charity (MIF) is an African foundation that was founded in 2006 with a single goal in mind: to emphasize the essential relevance of African governance and leadership.

Mo Ibrahim Leadership Foundation thinks that good governance and leadership are at the foundation of any tangible and shared improvement in African people’s quality of life.. The Foundation does not make grants and does not raise funds. It focuses on defining, measuring, and improving Africa’s governance and leadership.

Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships

The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships are a highly selective program designed to provide training to prepare future African leaders. We hope to strengthen and widen our growing network, which continues to offer its talents and knowledge to a better Africa, through our annual fellowship program.

The Fellowship will give $100,000, besides the chance to work in the executive offices of the African Development Bank (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Ababa), or ITC (Geneva). Read how to change your name on Nigerian passport.

Fellowships are available for working professionals, mid-career experts, and new administrators from Africa who have appropriate work experience and a master’s degree.
At a variety of prestigious academic institutions, the Ibrahim Scholarships support aspiring African leaders. The scholarships help outstanding young Africans develop their talent in specific fields.

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicant must be a citizen of one of Africa’s countries and hold a master’s degree.
  • Applicant must possess 7-10 years of related work experience
  • Applicant must be under the age of 40 for men, and under the age of 45 for women
  • Any other eligibility criteria as decided by the foundation
