Wizkid is a Nigerian musician and songwriter who goes by the stage name Ayodeji I. Balogun. He was born on July 16, 1990, in the Nigerian state of Lagos. He completed his UBE in Surulere, where he received his first school leaving certificate, as well as his secondary education, where he received secondary school certification and WAEC results.

According to Wikipedia, the budding star grew up to like and have an interest in good music, and he began recording music at the age of 11, which indicates he began recording in 2001. He collaborated with his church mates (GloriousFive) to release their first album. Banky W. signed Wizkid to a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) in 2009, and he released his first debut album superstar the following year. Holla at your boy, Tease me, Don’t dull, Pakurumo, Love my darling, and OluwaLo Ni are among the tracks on the album.

When Wizkid released his second single album “AYO” in 2014, he set a new milestone as the first ever Nigerian artist to reach one million Instagram followers. The album ended up being one of the best at the time, and it gave his music career a boost, giving him the international notoriety he had always desired. Some of the album’s hit songs include Jaiye Jaiye, Bombay, On Top of Your Matter, and three others.

In 2017 and 2020, he will release two more albums, Sounds from the Other Side and Made in Lagos, respectively.

His main successful record that gained him international notoriety was his collaboration with Drake on the song “One Dance” in 2016, which earned him a spot on the Billboard Chart and earned him a couple of awards solely for that tune.
